"I am a pediatric anesthesiologist and when I finished my master's degree I was sure I would like to have a doctorate in anesthesiology. I had no doubts about the FMUSP program, one of the few in anesthesiology in Brazil. I received full support throughout the regulatory process for approval of the research project, which is a clinical, randomized and translational study. With the help of my advisor, we were able to get funding from FAPESP, which was fundamental for the research laboratory execution. I gained access to the Medical Research Laboratories (LIMs) complex, where I do the translational part. The program is complete and encourages collaboration inside and outside USP. We got international partnerships with researchers from Germany, Canada and Switzerland, besides the inclusion of two medicine students for scientific initiation.
